USFA Seeks a Safer July 4th for All Residents
Fireworks account for a substantial number of preventable injuries and fires each year, especially around the Fourth of July. Parents need to be vigilant during this period, ensuring children do not possess illegal fireworks.


National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS) Self-Study Now Available
Available through NFA Online, this course serves as an introduction to NFIRS 5.0 and provides an overview of the data collection system, its modules, and data conversion issues.


USFA, Department of Transportation Complete Study of Traffic Incident Management Systems
New report provides guidance and training information to help reduce the number of firefighters struck and killed by vehicles while performing emergency operations.


2008 Arson Awareness Week
USFA announces the theme for the 2008 Arson Awareness Week: Toylike Lighters - Playing with Fire. May 4th - 10th will be used to educate all Americans about the dangers of novelty and toylike lighters in the hands of children.


New Self-Study Courses Offered by the National Fire Academy
Two new courses available through NFA Online - ICS-300: Intermediate All-Hazard NIMS ICS Review for Expanding Incidents (Q464) and ICS-400: Fundamentals Review for Command and General Staff (Q466) - can be used as pre-course modules or refresher training for ICS 300 and 400 courses delivered by State fire training agencies.


Eight Fire Officials Selected for Harvard Fellowship Program
USFA announced today the selection of eight senior fire officials to attend Harvard University's Senior Executives in State and Local Government Program conducted by the John F. Kennedy School of Government.
